Biography

Italian, b. 1976

Riccardo Wolfgang is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing and photography. His practice explores the interplay between perception, memory, and impermanence — tracing how fleeting moments of experience can be transformed into lasting visual forms.

In painting, Riccardo moves fluidly between the poetic and the observational. His canvases capture scenes that hover between the familiar and the imagined, spontaneous and deeply contemplative.

Riccardo’s photographic work shares the same instinct for immediacy and authenticity. Rejecting the polished aesthetic of staged photography, he instead embraces the unpredictability of the moment. His series — including Portrait Enigma, Scenarios, Structures, The Party, and Twigged — form a dynamic and evolving constellation of ideas rather than fixed projects. Each image holds the potential to shift meaning depending on its context, reflecting Riccardo’s belief in art as a living, changing conversation.

This openness defines his entire approach. Riccardo Wolfgang’s art exists in motion — a record of curiosity, change, and the quiet enigma found in the in-between.
